Enspiral Retreat 2018: Important information

Useful information for participants of the Enspiral retreat 2018

Hello wonderful Enspiral Summer retreat humans!

In this post find some basic logistical information to help you arrive ready to make the most of the time we have together.

Have you joined the Loomio group yet?

If you haven’t already, now is a great time to join the Loomio group!

Loomio is the best place to get a sense of the other participants joining the event, get any logistical questions answered and get a head start organising on any content you maybe interested in hosting or connecting with during the event.

General information

Getting there.

Transport to the event is self organised. The address is:

What to bring.

  • You need to bring all your own bedding (sheet, pillowcase, and sleeping bag/duvet). If you are an international traveler or simply cannot bring your own bedding please contact this week so we can arrange to hire bedding for you.
  • Bringing a diary or notebook is a really good idea. There will be lots of ideas and new people to track. Internet is available however the retreat is also an opportunity to unplug as much as you can.
  • Warm clothes for the evening. New Zealand can be cool anytime of the year.

Staying in Wellington.

Accomodation around the event is self organised.

The Loomio group is the best place to put up requests and offers for both transport and accomodation.

What to expect when you arrive at the retreat.

Aim to arrive by 2pm on Tuesday Jan 30th.

This will give you plenty of time to find your room, settle your things and connect with folks before we kick off formally at 3pm.

As you arrive you’ll find an arrivals desk to check in your registration and be directed towards your room.

At 3pm we’ll begin with a welcome, opening circle and then unfold a plan for the rest of our time together from there.

What to expect while you are there.

Enspiral retreats are always a mix of connecting with new and old friends, getting work done, learning and sharing and having a bunch of fun!

There will be some facilitated, prepared content, some open space for active participation from everyone as well as options to get some work done if you need to do that.

Ultimately, you get to choose how you want to spend your time.

**A friendly warning!**
There will always be more content, people, opportunities and things that call you to attend than there is time or brainspace to attend them. Make sure you take some time out for yourself as well :)

Looking after each other

As a community Enspiral has always worked hard to make retreats a safe, inclusive space for everyone. Our personal conduct agreement provides a framework for a code of conduct for the event.

If you feel uncomfortable or would like to discuss an issue please contact one of Summerfest host team during the event.
These people are:

Dan Lewis

Susan Basterfield

Anthony Cabraal

What to do if you get stuck.

The Loomio group is the first place to go to put up questions and seek clarifications.

If you need to contact the summerfest team then email Dan here:

We’re looking forward to seeing you at Silverstream on Tuesday Jan 30th at 2pm!
